Entretanto, devido \u00e0 disponibilidade limitada de dados de vaz\u00e3o hist\u00f3rica, a gera\u00e7\u00e3o de s\u00e9ries sint\u00e9ticas de vaz\u00f5es m\u00e9dias mensais t\u00eam sido amplamente utilizada na simula\u00e7\u00e3o de processos h\u00eddricos. Este trabalho prop\u00f5e um procedimento para a gera\u00e7\u00e3o de s\u00e9ries sint\u00e9ticas com base em duas abordagens da intelig\u00eancia computacional: um sistema baseado em regras nebulosas e um modelo de redes neurais multicamadas. Resultados emp\u00edricos obtidos por ambos os modelos s\u00e3o analisados, considerando s\u00e9ries de vaz\u00f5es mensais de dois postos localizados na cascata do Rio Grande. Os resultados fornecem evid\u00eancias que apontam que os modelos utilizados s\u00e3o uma alternativa adequada para a gera\u00e7\u00e3o de s\u00e9ries sint\u00e9ticas de vaz\u00f5es mensais e que reproduzem as principais caracter\u00edsticas estat\u00edsticas das s\u00e9ries observadas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Palavras-chave:<\/strong> S\u00e9ries Sint\u00e9ticas;
